Jo Ann was introduced to Bowenwork while attending a holistic health fair. She had chronic low back pain after being thrown from a horse over 35 years earlier. Jo Ann was amazed how one simple move near her sacrum could give her instant relief from a low back problem that 30 years of chiropractic and massage had not given her. She wanted to know more about this modality!
In 2011, Jo Ann began learning Bowenwork. She found that Bowenwork was easy to learn, easy to implement in her practice and, another bonus, her clients really loved to receive it! With Bowenwork, she also achieved great results with very little stress on her body. In addition, once Jo Ann started learning Bowenwork, she knew that she wanted to learn everything there was to know about Bowenwork!
She says the best thing about teaching Bowenwork is meeting new people. She always enjoys hearing what circumstances brought students to Bowenwork and to her class. Jo Ann enjoys watching students learn the Bowenwork procedures. It’s always exciting for her to see a student have that “light bulb” moment – that moment when the student “gets” a move or procedure that they had been struggling to understand.
Jo Ann enjoys teaching people the things that she enjoys doing herself. Bowenwork is no exception. She wants everyone to enjoy learning Bowenwork as much as she did. She works with each student’s learning style to make Bowenwork easy to learn. She enjoys teaching people who have little or no anatomy background, as well as those people who have a thorough understanding of anatomy. She feels that more individualized training is the best way to learn, so she keeps her classes small. Jo Ann’s teaching style is to have fun while learning this amazing bodywork!
